I was awakened by a text message sometime around 4 am. All schools, K-12, have cancelled classes for the day. It's a snow day. The college sent me a message around 6 am announcing we would be holding classes. No snow day for me. I drank a cup of coffee, put on my face, and bundled up. The drive to school was easy. The skies were grey but there was no snow. I live only minutes from campus and by the time I parked, there was snow flying and sticking to the roads. It had begun. Fifteen minutes into to class, the college closed. I watched a student write this message on the quad before heading home for a snow day.
