A Thought on Motherhood

I know there will be a day when I open the linen closet door and find all the pillowcases, washcloths, sheets and towels neatly stacked just the way I stowed them fresh from the drier. Today, I might think this will make me happy, but I just have a feeling that I will be sad when I open the door and two towels do not fall to the floor.

  1. Perhaps you didn't stack them quite as neatly as you thought. Or perhaps the ghosts move them around while we are at work. Or perhaps others who sometimes and far more often put clean laundry away have a different and even more effective method that works just perfectly when yours doesn't get in the way. Or perhaps some others who also use pillowcases, washcloths, sheets and towels aren't quite as anal-retentive as others they know. And perhaps some won't look up anal-retentive to see whether it needs a hyphen.

Can you say anal in a blog? I hope the Inernet police don't find out....

  2. This is also true in our house miraculously the linen closest becomes a minefield - open the door and you never kow what may fall out..
