Stroke - Day 5

Today, Dad ate a bit more, moved his left knee slightly and wiggled his toes! There are still many ups and downs. He has been accepted into the acute therapy program and we are hoping he has the strength.

Have I shared with you that each and every time a nurse, personal care assistant, lab tech, or anyone does anything to him or for him, good or hurtful, he thanks them? Has since the moment he walked into emergency. That's my dad.

  1. So glad to hear he is doing better honey...Hope you had a great weekend! Don't forget to enter my Christmas giveaway before Thursday if you haven't already!

  2. That's a sweet reminder of how thankful we should be for all the medical personnel. I was a Medical Asst and my son Daniel is in RN school and works as a CNA and he appreciates kind words when patients and their families are going through so much. I pray he will continue to improve. My MIL had a stroke and after a few months in a nursing home she is now back in her apartment and living by herself again. It took time but she made it.

  3. Kelly, I am so glad to hear your dad is making progress! Give your mother a hug for me - I will contact her in a few days. Much love to all your family.
